Al Maaref Private School (LLC)

The Sheffield Private School

Al Nahda located The Sheffield Private School provides education for 1550 boys and girls aged three to 18 years, from Foundation Stage to post-16, offering UK IGCSE, A2 and A’ Level exams. However, two-thirds of students are in the foundation and primary stage, and last a year only 29 students were in post-16 education at the school. A’ Levels had not been taken for two years. Students come largely from Pakistani, Arabic, and Indian families.

CREDENCE HIGH SCHOOL

Credence High School is located on a large purpose-built campus located in Al Qouz Industrial area. It is one of several schools located in this area and convenient for the Al Khail and Sheikh Zayed Roads, allowing the school to cover large areas of Dubai, Deira and Sharjah by school bus services. The school was founded by several prominent local Indian businessmen, including Dr. Moopen, who owns the Aster Medical clinics and pharmacies in Dubai.

Apple International School

Apple International School, established in 1994, is a mixed gender school located in Dubai in Al Qusais near the Al Bustan Centre. It offers private primary and middle school education (KG to grade 8) with a UK based curriculum. It currently has 2261 children on its register, a 10% increase from the previous year. There are currently 107 teachers and 28 teaching assistants working at the school.

St. Mary Catholic High School Dubai

Anyone who has been in the UAE for some time will know of someone who has been educated at St. Mary’s. Practically an institution, St Mary’s, based in Oud Metha in Dubai, is home to almost 1929 students, girls and boys, aged from 5 to 19. The school is one of the oldest educational institutions in the Emirates. It was founded in 1968, and is said to be something of an anomaly in following a broadly Catholic curriculum for Religious Studies (a choice of study is allowed).

Indian International School (DSO Branch)

Indian International High School, Dubai is a private K-12 school located in Dubai Silicon Oasis, Dubai. It currently caters to more than 1900 students. The school is rated Acceptable by the KHDA, a ranking it has held for three years in a row. This puts it sharply at odds with its sister schools in Garhoud and Zabeel both of which have received Outstanding ratings by the KHDA. The Indian High School Dubai claims to be Dubai’s very first private school, opening its doors in 1961.

It presently has almost 3304 students on its register, following the Indian based National Council for Education and Research and Training syllabus (NCERT) until Grade 9, and then the Central Board for Secondary Education (CBSE) examination syllabuses until Grade 12.

American International School

American International School Dubai is a private, independent institution that serves students from Kindergarten to Grade 12 (ages 3 to 18). It presently has just over 2300 students (up 100 over last year and 500 over two years) made up of over 60 nationalities, the majority of which are Arab nationals. The school has 144 teachers, and 17 teaching assistants giving it a relatively weak teacher to student ratio.

Pakistan Educational Academy

Our Own High School

Our own High School, Al Warqa, is a GEMS owned and run school, serving 4,688 predominantly Indian boys aged 5-19 (KG to Grade 12). The CBSE based school currently has a rating of Good by Dubai’s education regulator, the KHDA, a level of education it has maintained for the last four out of five years.

The Westminster School

The school is by far the largest UK curriculum (IGCSE, AS and A’ Level) school in Dubai, home to over 5,000 students which must, at least, give it good economies of scale. Some 70 nationalities are included in the student population – including those from Pakistan, Egypt, India, UAE, other Arabs, and other Asians.
